Here I am again opening this by apologizing for my lack of time to write anything new on here. The summer months always seem to pose a serious challenge for trying to manage my time wisely. Between playing softball 3 nights a week, camping and being extremely busy at work my time has become a blur. So again I apologize.
On Monday, June 8, 2007 SolidWorks Corporation released it’s latest version of their 3D modeling software. I have not had the time to participate in any of the beta testing for this version but I was privileged enough to get a much appreciated sneak peak last week showing the “blog squad” (see my preferred blogger’s on the right side bar) some of new features this year. SolidWorks 2008 features a completely new user interface which I think I could come to like extremely well. It will definitely take some time to get used to it but I can see some definite benefits from this new interface. I am hoping to get a chance to take a look at this software sometime soon (MAYBE tonight…..) and then hopefully I will be able to give you some more insight into what this new software has to offer.
The following sites will give you some amazing insight into the new software from some Beta testers along with the official SolidWorks release and the SolidWorks 2008 What’s New file:

Also, as a side note Richard Doyle did a spectacular job of adding all of the “blog squad” links to the SWUGN website. Check it out here and enjoy: SolidWorks User Blogs.
